At 14,400 feet above sea level, Mount Rainier is the tallest mountain in Washington State, and is blanketed by no fewer than 26 glaciers, holding more snow and ice on its slopes than all the other volcanoes in the Cascade Mountain range combined. When this volcano erupts, (and scientists tell us that it WILL erupt, eventually) it will be one of the largest natural disasters in recorded U.S. history.

Good but not quite a fully developed story

This is a good read, However the focus of the story, a soon to erupt volcano, ends up with only a few pages at the end. Needs a part 2.

This short novel by first-time author, Dusty Grein, ...

This short novel by first-time author, Dusty Grein, is both engaging and informative. You are instantly drawn into the lives and well-being of the primary characters and the outcome of this experience is important to the reader. The author intersperses descriptive sections, educating the reader concerning the development of volcanic activity which not only informs, but also draws the reader further into the lives of the characters. This story is entertaining. A very pleasant read and a very well written novel. I will watch for more of his work in the future.

An Ok Read, but a Bit Odd

I liked the book enough to finish it, but one part really didn't make any sense at all.
A scientist in charge of the station that keeps watch over the volcano, gets ridiculously pissed off one night for stupid ego reasons and completely trashes the station. Badly.
Not just a little. She pulls wires, ruins expensive equipment and slashes tires on cars parked outside. Then she takes off on a snow mobile and kills herself.
WHAT? This made no sense at all and I found this incredibly stupid.
