Laugh and Learn

Don't be misled by the humor in this book, it is a thoughtful and insightful look at relationships from an experienced couples therapist, Trevor Silvester. Trevor brings together elements of the NLP model of Preferred Representational Systems and Simple Metaprograms to outline 8 'lovebird' types. He sets out how these types love, their strengths and potential blind spots in relationships. Also how they interact with other Lovebird types. The principles are illustrated with examples and anecdotes, often humorous, which makes them even more memorable.
I have used Trevor's model to explain personality differences to couples who are experiencing relationship problems and they have all found it helpful. Also interesting for those embarking on new relationships who want to learn more about themselves before they leap in.

Love this book!

I highly recommend this book. It is a must read for all kinds of couples in any stage of the game. This book gave me some really great pointers of what I can do to improve my marriage, but more importantly it gave me a deeper understanding of myself and WHY I think the way I think... and that the way I think (though similar because we are both Swans) is different than the way my husband thinks (since my Kingfisher side gets in the way a little). And guess what... That's perfectly normal and fine! We just need to recognize that and find the best way for US and OUR Lovebirds to build the happiest nest we can.
