The only drawback is the lack of coverage of immune system physiology and the functions of connective tissues. This book covers material similar to that in other, larger physiology books (Human Anatomy and Physiology, 7th edition, by Marieb (Benjamin Cummings, 2005); Hole's Human Anatomy and Physiology, 11th edition, Shier et al. (McGraw-Hill, 2007); Anatomy and Physiology: The Unity of Form and Function, 4th edition, by Saladin (McGraw-Hill, 2007)), but does so at equal or greater depth and with increased efficiency.
